Round 2 BKSA
0 comment(s)July 19th, 2010Arrived on the thursday night after a long drive up. Woke up friday morning to sun shining but no wind but always a great place to be, lots going on and well organised. Saturday no wind again so chilled out. Woke up sunday to the wind blowing, pumped up my kit and disaster my 9m bladder blew out – Old war wound on my 9m came back to haunt me ” crashed it onto rocks back in February in Margaret river Australia” so I tied the bladder in a knot and went straight out in my first heat with a jelly kite. Came 2nd in that heat so went through into heat 5. Got a few tricks off but crashed my kite doing a KGB . Kite had had enough and that was me done.
Still enjoyed it. Naish and H2O sports straight on it and kit sorted. Training for the next comp in Barrow and looking forward to it.
Will be making a new video shortly called “ A bit of everything”

Out and about update
0 comment(s)June 2nd, 2010Competing in the BKSA this year. First round was in Redcar Newcastle. Unfortunately there was not enough wind to run the comp but still managed to have a kite on the friday. Great time up there though and good to see everyone. Looking forward to round 2 Hunstanton.
Off to watergate bay Friday for a stag do and a kite hopefully. Sunday I will be at Poole harbour for H2O’s demo day, so if you are about come down and check it out. Hope to get on the water!!!

3 WEEKS IN
0 comment(s)February 2nd, 2010Been doing a bit of travelling around, Had a cracking kite at Lancelin which is a bit of everything there, you can drive onto the beach, waves out the back, flat water on the inside and the finest white sand I have ever seen.
Also been to the local spots Woodies and Safety bay both super flat places to kite, from safety bay you can see Penguin island in the distance which is great to kite to.
Just back from a road trip to Margaret river, spent 2 days kiting down there, the waves at Prevelly beach are the biggest I’ve kited in and great to watch the surfers being towed in. Another spot I kited was Augustus which has an awesome inlet of flat water.
check out some more pics

Back From Fuerteventura
0 comment(s)August 8th, 2009
I have just returned from competing in the PKRA world tour in Fuerteventura. What an event! There were a total of 27 male and 8 female riders competing so we didn’t have to have any qualifying heats. My first heat in the single eliminations was 5B against the Vice Champion Youri Zoon. The wind was gusting 45 plus, cross off and very gusty.
I put up a good fight landing s bend pass, blind judge, back to blind air pass and huge kiteloop but lost my heat as Youri was as ever on fire. After a breathtaking single’s Kevin Langeree won, Youri 2nd and Aaron 3rd North team rider Reno Romeu came a well deserved 4th. Day 3 was the double eliminations. I was in heat 24A against Michele Ratti Morales (Slingshot). After a tense 7 minute heat of giving my all, it was announced that I had advanced through to the next round.
Heat 27A I was up against North team rider Cesar Portas. I did lose to Cesar which meant I was out of the competition but had come a respectable 13th overall. Aaron managed to work his way back up showing us all how it’s done to win the doubles and overall.
Congrats to him!Overall I had an amazing time and it was a truly mindblowing experience to kite with the top riders in the World and giving me an insight on the level I need to achieve.
